Transmission is a cross platform torrent client, for downloading stuff from the internet. Transmission is a fully featured torrent client, and offers a lot of options that other clients do not offer its clients.

But what is a more surprising feature is that the transmission is a light weight client. It occupies so little memory in your computer.

Ubuntu is great! The default torrent client for ubutu will be transmission from the next release. I am now using some local torrent clinet on my system and that is not great, but i will call it good.  In my windows system, i was using U torrent and bitlord, both of it used to be good.

 I am so glad to hear this, and i am even more happy to write a post on this. Yes, throw vista operating system and go for open source ubuntu. It is free, including shipping and is amazing.

You should also try out the KDE version of the ubuntu, called the kubuntu. It is ultra cool with its aqua interface and no operating system can match that.

In a featured article by mythbuster, he quotes that vista comes with a lot of unnecessary software which he will probably never use. And also suggests ubuntu.

I love ubuntu and the OSX, but i like to experiment with new flavors of linux distributions.

This is what i was up to yesterday morning, when i found a review of puppy linux and i was amazed at how a operating system was coded in just 28mb. The official release claims that the puppy linux came in a size of 28-98MB. It is primarily aimed at live CD and puppy linux can also be used as multi session thing.

The website of puppy linux looks extremely ordinary and i would be surprised if there are many users, who use it solely as a single operating system.

For all those windows lovers, who understand that windows is not secure and still love it, use linux. They are still used to the windows style of operations and feel in a hostile environment, when they work on a mac or an linux machine.

To help those guys, here is a good implementation, i love the idea of an open source product any time. Can you imagine windows for free? Windows and that too 100% non-microsoft code.

Hardly imaginable, yet true!! Wine is one such product, which can help you use a free version of windows on linux!!

The next stable version of linux kernel, 2.6.24 has been released. It goes without saying that the kernel has been the most stable one and linux is more secure than other platforms. In fact the OS X, is based on the linux architecture.

You can download the latest kernel and deploy the same in your linux machines. This kernel is actually a part of your operating system and you should download the kernel, if only you are an advanced user. If you are a newbie to linux, you can get a distribution of linux for free at ubuntu or fedora.

Time machine is great, it can take a backup automatically. The space required did not matter. You had the time capsule to do it. What is time capsule?

A similar app can be installed on linux too - the flyback is one such utility for linux, which can do the same thing as a time machine can do on a mac.

You may find flyback hosted on google code, and you can download the same there. The same can be installed in most versions of linux like ubuntu, fedora and others.

Will windows copy the same in the next release, which is not even talked about so far?

Make your linux dsktop look like a mac one. We all know a mac interface is ultra cool and stylish. It is also very handy to launch applicaitons or perform tasks, a few clicks should suffice.

Mac4Lin is a open source project hosted at sourceforge and it aims at bringing your linux desktop nearest to the mac one in terms of appearance. Earlier i had written about making the windows desktop in to a mac like one, but it was much safer because it used the personalizations separately. The dock was a separate program, which you used in windows. This may not be that safe.

Issued only for advanced linux users.

Ubuntu - Linux for human beings has always been an amazing open source product. Its free for download and also free shippiing of CD, and freely distributable. What more? You can also download ubuntu from the unbuntu website.
