Not just search, google is damn good in email too. I saw a battery of men change to gmail as their primary accounts three or four years back. Now, it is time to slam the major mail service provider till then, yahoo. Besides bringing in a lot of features, many of them went unnoticed, because people has switched to gmail - permanently.

Adding to the problems, yahoo was not working for those little number of people, using safari. Now yahoo seems to have set those things right too. The ajaxified yahoo mail interface works in safari as well.

While i have been a big fan of open source and that was a big factor in moving and using only firefox for a couple of years, i simply hate closed source software, if they have bugs. the best example is the internet explorer - the stupid browser.

While i can fix patches in firefox or at buleast log them in bugzilla, i never complained against safari, because the code was more than perfect. I never saw errors in safari, and when ever it was, there was possibility of windows playing a hand in it.

If you ever wanted to open sourced standards in the safari browser, there are a plenty of chances for you to do so. take a look at the apple developer site and learn more about the open standards available here.

When apple introduced the new safari for windows platform, there were few people, who went in for the new browser. But to those who tried it, it did leave a ever lasting browsing experience. Speed is the trump card, apple is playing with.

The next version of safari and the web tool kit is released. Safari is now even more faster, making it the fastest browser so far. If you have not tried safari so far, try it now.

If you are using Internet Explorer, you better stop browsing the internet.

While firefox has a store room of addons and themes, with which you can customize firefox to your needs and appeal, safari has not got that many addons, at least not from apple. In fact apple reports that third party addons to safari can affect performance.

Forget addons, i must at least be able to change the skin of safari. As i had mentioned earlier about safari pros and cons, i wanted better contrast on the default theme. Although themes and addons are rare, almost all required plugins for safari are available. Does some body know where i can get good safari addons?

Africa is the dark continent and the continent with the most animal resources. South africa is a very friendly and developed country, where you can see dynamic cities as well as wildlife. It is the perfect place to go with the hunting gear. Go to a hotel in a city and move on a two day trip in to the forest. I am really excited, just imagining a South Africa hunting safari. it is really awesome. Some of the animals found int he cape, are very unique and are found no where else in the planet. You will have a tour of your life time.

There are two extra ordinary accommodations. Imagine sipping wine in a hotel, and the next day in a bush camp in a dense forest. Pack your wild gear now!

A different safari…

A mac lover loves safari, but otherwise firefox stands rock solid. You could have seen the release of safari on windows claiming it the fastest browser on the planet, it is quite true. I am surprised to see safari even faster than firefox.

A few things i have enjoyed in safari on windows, (the mac is yet to arrive:-) )

1. It is faster than even firefox. Sometimes, when i am just watching movies on the net, safari streams faster than any browser. Firefox is a bit slow, but is powerful with its addons. When i don’t see the need for the power required with a addon, i go for safari. Previously i used to have flock and used to switch between firefox and flock, depending on need. IE anybody?

2. Safari inline find is really good and makes searching text on a page very easy. Besides being effective, it is also stylish.

3. Private browsing seems to be great, i am yet to use this.

4. Start up time is good, and better than this - the standing time, or i need a better phrase than that. Imagine you have been browsing on the internet and the page is loaded. After some time, you can see the memory occupied by safari getting lower. Does it go into a sleep mode?

5. People at apple think!! This simple feature is a great example. Right click on any image and simply choose “save image to desktop” , rather than the normal “save image as”.

6. Embedded google search.

Here is a list which you may not find any where - things i hate about safari.

1. Being used to have download status bar, when i click on a link in safari, it pops up a couple of new windows. Irritating!

2. There is no facility to specify proxy in safari browser. Did engineers at apple forget it? Or did i miss to see it?

3. I might not be in a big crowd for pointing out this one. The safari background is dark grey and the font is in black. I feel the contrast can be better. Any hands? If you are running firefox, you may want to see this online themes for firefox. It loads very fast.

4. Sometimes, when i post to wordpress from safari, white space is not preserved. I end up with a post, having a cluster of words.

5. There are very few addons, that are available for safari. Is there a google toolbar? I use it very effectively. After some googling, i do find some addons. Surprise - there are also addons for IE.

If you take my word, you can make your windows better with safari. You can always use it as a secondary browser. you may also like to simulate the ‘dock in mac‘ in windows
