Aperture 2 was released just an hour ago at the apple site. More than hundred new features have been released. Take a look at the new features released.

The package comes at a price tag of $199 and existing aperture users can upgrade with a $99 deal. The price has come down and hence apple expects to sell more of this software.

While firefox has a store room of addons and themes, with which you can customize firefox to your needs and appeal, safari has not got that many addons, at least not from apple. In fact apple reports that third party addons to safari can affect performance.

Forget addons, i must at least be able to change the skin of safari. As i had mentioned earlier about safari pros and cons, i wanted better contrast on the default theme. Although themes and addons are rare, almost all required plugins for safari are available. Does some body know where i can get good safari addons?

IBM was listed in the top ten leading innovators in the software industry last year and they have proved every bit of it. The innovator’s innovator already has the world’s fastest super computer and is now working on a new  technology which will allow the whole of the internet to be hosted here, all at one place.

Reminded of which, this one struck my mind - an old joke. A newbie asks i need to download the internet. Is this floppy enough?

This project from ibm is called the 67.1m-core computer, which works on the blue gene, the world’s fastest super computer. The system will host a memory of 32PB (peta bytes, wtf???)

Open source and award winning firefox does have a few bugs, as seen in a mozilla blog post. But what has it got to do with us? We all love firefox and it is open source and yes, there is a huge possibility if bugs. Are there not any bugs in bad browser like internet Explorer? In fact it is full of bugs and is the least standards complaint browser.

Meanwhile, Opera has been considered the safest browser, though i would still miss the addons. There is nothing wrong with firefox, just as zero day has the story about.

Support open source, do not hurt the web!!

Update - This flaw has been there for a few months and has been given priority as low.

Of all things in the world, one of the last things that i would admit is that windows is more secure than linux. But this is what is being claimed by dear microsoft. On a web release, last week, microsoft security agents released a report which showed that Vista had seen lesser attacks than other oprtaing systems like xp and ubuntu. How dare he says ubuntu is less secure than vista? Really funny!!! This story was made fun of by gizmodo.

You may like to read the comments section for more funny responses.

One another critic also made a funny note on how stupid ie is better than firefox. This is even more intolerable!!

Firefox is undoubtedly m choice of browser, among the few browsers available. One of the features why firefox rocks is that it is totally customizable by addons.

I am an ardent google worshiper and i use gmail and google reader. Google reader is really a great and stands by the google brand. now using greasemonkey scripts, via a addon called better gmail, you can now integrate gmail with google reader.

There are also a lot of other features like removing adsense and new skins and much more for you to customize.

You can download better gmail here. I also suggest you to visit the developer’s site for more updates.

I love MySQL, its easy, open source and quick. It is the database that most wordpress users use. It was about to go IPO, when one leading software giant in the world, announced its plan to take it over.

Sun micro systems bought a portion of the open source firm today. What does it mean to me and other wordpress users?

1. A new version of MySQL is on the cards.

2. java will become more compataible with MySQL.

3. A priced version of the open source software may be released.

Why should somebody take over a open source firm???

Photos show more joy when viewing than the actual moment. It is a great discovery, and people bless online photo albums.

There are three major photo album websites - flickr, picassa and photobucket.

Flickr is from yahoo, and promises a lot of good things like goos storage space, ease in album viewing. Also flickr gives a url, which you can use in blogs or any other places. One problem, was when users uploaded photos, it did take a lot of time. Flickr uploader did the trick easy and smooth. now it was easy to upload an entire folder of photos. tagging has also been quite easy. In my opinion, it is the first option!!

Picasa is from google. The best thing about picasa is that it is from google and you can expect innovation and enhancements. there is a desktop version, where you can play around. If you need to do a lot of editing, picasa is a good choice. However if you do just the uploading, go for flickr. tagging is not bad. Ease of sharing only for a few people is available. This will let you have private photos. however if you want everybody to view your photos, then either of them could be a good choice.

I have not tried photobucket so far. Mainly because, it has not been that convincing for me for try it. I mean, whats wrong with flickr?

The dock in a mac is a beautiful thing that is a real envy for any windows users. Of course there is the quick launch toolbar, but there is no bumping and the coolness in it. Most people use this quick launch toolbar, and it is accessible any time, but it is attached to the task bar. Unless the taskbar is set to auto hide, it just sits there.

Most mac users, put all their application shortcuts and other often used places in the doc, so that it is there for easy access. You can do more things with the dock, both in style as well as in functionality.

Rocketdock is one such beautiful software, which provides the functionality of a dock in windows. It is amazingly cool, customizable and expandable. You can change skins, set effects and add shortcuts to the dock.

There is also another cool feature, which is not favored by all windows users. You can actually minimize running apps, to this doc, rather than to the taskbar, which is typical windows style. In fact, there are also a few usres, who call this dock feature a bad one, really? Opinions really differ.

Download rocketdock here. Teasing me more than this is the new leopard os x dock, which is extremely fancier than any other software. Leopard os x, i ll get it soon!
